Penjing Workshop: Autumn Training

The art of miniature trees, commonly known as bonsai, originates in China. Penjing, pot scenery, is a miniature garden and a living art form. With the increasing pace of our modern world, penjing allows us to pursue inner peace and tranquility, fulfilling our desire to be part of nature.
Join us at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden for a mini garden tour with master gardener Pin Lee, as we learn how the garden's 100-year old penjing collection has changed within the past year. Following the tour is a demonstration and a hands-on workshop for participants who wish to seek penjing advice from Lee. Registered participants are welcome to bring their own penjing for Lee to advise upon. For beginners, a variety of plants and pots will be available for purchase. Plants and pots will range from $15 to $30. Tools and soils are provided during the workshop.
Pin Lee holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree specializing in horticulture. Over the years, Lee has worked with the North Vancouver and Vancouver Park Boards. Currently, Lee works at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden as the lead gardener.
