Memories of a Lotus Pond in Fine Rain, a 40 foot-long scroll created by Jin Cheng in 1923, depicts a lyrical waterscape in ink with hints of surprising colour. Rediscovered recently in storage and painstakingly restored, the time has come to unveil this masterwork once again.

Jin Cheng was known internationally and recognized by the last Emperor of China, Henry Pu-Yi, as well as the Japanese Emperor Yoshito. This piece of his work is a superlative example of the balance of poetical inscriptions and beautiful imagery in Chinese art. The poetry and seals have been interpreted by Tse Yim, a Vancouver Chinese calligraphy master who has added his own mark as the tradition of passing art from one scholar to another dictates.

This is rare opportunity to see a historic work of sublime meditation.
