Stephanie is a long-time Vancouver resident of Chinese-Canadian heritage. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Family Studies from the University of British Columbia, and went on to complete the General Management program at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. Stephanie currently works as the Philanthropy Officer at the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Prior to this, she worked in the UBC Development office, focusing on major gift fundraising for campus-based initiatives and alumni relations.
Stephanie is an engaged and active member of her community. The Garden aside, she is on the Board of Directors for Chimo Community Services, a past mentor for the Arts Co-op Students’ Association Mentorship Program, and a member of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP).
Fluent in Cantonese, Stephanie has worked and travelled extensively in Asia. It was while visiting various classical gardens in China that her appreciation for them was first kindled. She joined the board of Trustees because she sees the garden as an oasis of calm within an increasingly developed neighbourhood, and one of the spaces in the city that most effectively mixes culture and tourism. She is committed to helping build a bridge between Western and Asian culture through the activities of the garden.
