Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden proudly presents a remarkable collection of fabric reliefs by renowned fashion designer and collector Robert Kröner from the Netherlands. This collection pays homage to the Chinese imperial courts from 700 years ago.
Through his expertise, Robert applied unique hand-stitching, painting, and embossing technique to panels that portray the splendor of the traditional Ming Dynasty court attire. The inspiration of this collection is rooted in the following:
• The beautiful and traditional attire worn by Chinese generals, emperors, and empresses
• The Kröner family’s collection of Asian art
• The book Son of Heaven: Imperial Arts of China
• Passion and love for fashion and arts
Robert Kröner calls upon us to enjoy the aesthetics of the past. Join us for the opening reception on March 10 from 2:30-4:00 pm and a free workshop on March 23 from 1:00-2:00 pm in the Hall of Hundred Rivers. Please use the entrance on Carrall Street for the opening reception and workshop.
