The Art of Photography, Jun 5
June 5 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
This week, the Garden is proud to present Evelyn Nodwell and “The Art of Photography”.
The joy of photography for me comes from seeing, experiencing and expressing the world around me, sometimes moving quickly to capture a fleeting instant. I always photograph spontaneously, never posing or setting up the subject. The resulting image itself can be a surprise – when it holds the moment that spoke to me, or when it has captured something even more. Whatever the subject matter, however simple or complex the photo, I believe that my best photographs either tell a story; or evoke a mood, atmosphere or feeling.
Evelyn has had several solo exhibits, as well as participated in joint exhibits, featuring work ranging from photojournalistic to abstract high key, and has been a regular exhibitor at the Garden over several years. She has had photos published, and has given many photography workshops and presentations. Evelyn’s photographs have won awards, including a category first place in the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition. (https://igpoty.com/profiles/evelyn-nodwell/)
As an anthropologist and independent filmmaker, Evelyn has worked in British Columbia and India. Based on her research in both places, she produced two television documentaries in collaboration with Knowledge Network.
