“Unexpected colour palettes” an Art Talk with Olivia Knight

This week, the Garden is proud to present “Unexpected colour palettes” with Olivia Knight.
Join us for an colourful talk, in which Olivia will be discussing her artworks and personal inspirations.
Olivia Knight is a Painter and Mural Artist from London, UK.  Her degree was in Set Design for Stage and Screen, but she was always drawn to the more hands on elements such as Scenic Painting and Props Making. She started her early career as a Scenic Painter for Musicals on the West End in London, but since moving to Canada has shifted her focus to Mural Painting. Olivia has always worked large scale and enjoys working with a big canvas. Colour is always a central part of her process which she uses to play with positive and negative space, light and reflection. She takes most of her inspiration from scenes around her, be it indoor or outdoor. But these whimsical and colourful pieces are always aimed to spark joy and nostalgia in the viewer. Olivia’s work always takes an abstract twist through distortion of perspective or an unexpected colour palette.

Join us for a free virtual talk on August 28th at 2pm PST.
