FAMILY FAQs
Safety
Please note our traditional pond is not protected by a guard rail.
Please do not allow children to climb on any of our rocks or railings. This is for safety as well as conservation reasons.
Strollers and buggies
Compact strollers are allowed inside the Garden. Unfortunately due to our new operating procedures we are currently unable to store strollers on site, however you are welcome to keep them with you throughout your visit.
Accessibility
The halls and walkways in the Garden are wheelchair friendly. Our accessible entrance is located at the Eight Treasures Shop and our staff will show you how to access the Garden this way.
Baby Changing
An accessible co-ed washroom stall with changing table is available alongside the Gift Shop.
Baby Feeding
Parents and caregivers are welcome to breast or bottle feed young infants throughout the Garden, however we ask that walking children be fed with bigger kids in the designated picnic areas in the Dr Sun Yat-Sen Courtyard.
Food and Drink in the Garden
Like most museums, our Garden has a strict no food or drink policy for all visitors. There are no vending machines or lunchroom facilities, however families are welcome to eat in the courtyard outside our entrance, or in the Dr Sun Yat Sen Public Park next door to our Garden.
Please ask us for Chinatown lunch recommendations if you are interested in eating in a nearby restaurant or cafe.
Weather
We recommend you dress appropriately for the weather! Our walkways are covered so visitors are sheltered from rain and sun. Our rooms are not heated except for one large hall -the Hall of One Hundred Rivers.
