You don’t need to travel across the globe to film in an authentic Chinese garden.
Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden provides a unique venue for filming, with indoor and outdoor backdrops set amongst traditional Chinese cultural, architectural and natural elements. In addition to the botanical aspects of the garden, the space also features a central pond, rock structures, and several pavilions and walkways. The garden’s design and layout provide intricate details as well as open landscapes, offering a wealth of scenery for a relatively small space.
As an authentic, full-scale classical Chinese garden located in Vancouver, the garden is uniquely situated and easily accessible to crews shooting in and around British Columbia. The rich heritage and diversity of the surrounding Chinatown neighbourhood further enhance the character of the setting. Projects that have filmed in the garden include Tomorrowland (film), Death Note (film), Legends of Tomorrow (TV series), and Van Helsing (TV series).
