KEN WU - BOARD TREASURER
Born and raised in Suzhou, China –the city known for the classical gardens after which Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden is modeled– Ken is inspired to bring cultural and economic collaboration between China and Canada.
Ken received his Bachelor of Commerce at UBC and he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Having started his career in finance, Ken brings over ten years of professional and entrepreneurial experience from both the public and private sectors. He previously served as Manager at the BC Ministry of International Trade and Multiculturalism, Asian Market Manager at CIBC Commercial Banking, and Senior Analyst at Pacific Mergers and Acquisitions.
Currently, Ken is the founder and principal of Charleswood Capital, a boutique private equity firm with a focus on strengthening established local small to medium-sized businesses with a system to facilitate founder transition, optimize operation, and foster sustained growth.
Ken is fluent in English and Mandarin. He and his wife live in East Vancouver with their puppy Hachi.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Society is governed by a Board of Trustees made of up local community leaders and experts.
In addition to the elected Trustees, there are non-voting seats on the Board for a representative from the City Council of the City of Vancouver, and the Board of Parks and Public Recreation.
