STEPHANIE LI - BOARD MEMBER
A long-time Vancouver resident of Chinese-Canadian heritage, Stephanie received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, and went on to complete the General Management program at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
Currently, Stephanie is the Co-Founder and Principal for Spotlight West Communications. She has also worked in both private and non-profit sectors with extensive experience in major gift fundraising and external relations, having worked on multi-million dollar campaigns for BC Children’s Hospital and UBC.
Stephanie is an engaged and active member of her community. Aside from the Garden, she was on the Board of Directors for Chimo Community Services, a past mentor for the Arts Co-op Students’ Association Mentorship Program, and is a member of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP).
Fluent in Cantonese, Stephanie has also worked and travelled in Asia. It was during various visits to classical gardens in China where her appreciation for them was first kindled. She joined the board of Trustees because she sees the Garden as an oasis of calm within an increasingly developed neighbourhood, and one of the spaces in the city that most effectively mixes both culture and tourism. She wants to share her love for Chinese culture and is committed to helping build a bridge between Western and Asian culture through the activities of the Garden.
