Ode to Koi

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden is thrilled to welcome koi back to our pond this spring. To celebrate their return, we are inviting everyone who has visited the Garden over the years to join us in sharing stories and memories of our koi. Submit your “Ode to Koi” for a chance to be featured on the Garden’s social media channels and win some koi-lourful prizes. Pieces can be done in a written and/or visual art form, so get inspired!

We will select three stories, featuring one a week until Wednesday, May 29. Each winner will receive a set of Garden signature tea, a pair of handmade ceramic koi magnets by Espiritu Lab, and a $50 gift card to Chinatown BBQ (weeks 1 and 2) or Rhinofish Noodle Bar (week 3).

Submission guidelines: Open to anyone who has been to Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden in Vancouver’s Chinatown. Pieces must represent the koi in relation to Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Park, or Vancouver’s Chinatown in order to be considered for selection. Any previously published or commercial work will not be considered for selection. Please be respectful!
