MID-AUTUMN MOON FESTIVAL
WELCOME TO DR SUN YAT-SEN CLASSICAL CHINESE GARDEN!
The Mid Autumn Moon Festival is an ancient festival with roots in harvest festival celebrations and moon worshiping rituals. It occurs on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month which happens some time between mid September and early October. This is when the moon is at its fullest after the autumnal equinox.
It is a popular, happy time of year when families get together to share food, admire the full moon, light lanterns and eat mooncakes. Do you celebrate it with your family?
In honour of this ancient fall festival, we have put together a series of learning tools and activities to bring the festivities into your home!
