Chinese New Year Field Trips

Chinatown is host to one of Canada’s largest Chinese New Year celebrations. Visit us in the heart of where it all takes place.

Programs relate directly to the Social Studies curriculum and cover big ideas and content such as family traditions, diversity of community and cultures, and aspects of life shared by peoples and cultures

Celebrating an Ox Year (Pre-K - Grade 5)

Chinese New Year is an exciting time! Explore its stories and traditions and finish the program by doing a fun scavenger hunt around the Garden OR a take-home craft.

Combine your New Year program in the garden with a Walking Tour along Pender Street. Learn all about the history of this fascinating neighbourhood and observe the ways local merchants celebrate the New Year.
