Dragon Boat Field Trips
These programs are based on the popular Dragon Boat Festival that takes place in Spring, although programs can be booked all year round.
Dragon Tales relates to big ideas in the Social Studies curriculum such as multiculturalism, continuity and change. Dragon Boat paddling is tied to physical literacy/activity outcomes in the Physical and Health Education curriculum.

Dragon Tales (Grades 4 and up)
Discover the stories and traditions behind the 2000 year old Dragon Boat Festival and learn about its connections to Vancouver. The program also includes a chance to explore our Garden and learn about Ming Dynasty family life. Students will examine topics including culture, tradition, and history, and end the program by making good luck charms.
120 minutes | $8 per student
Add Dragon Boat Paddle: $18 + tax per student ($33 + tax per post secondary student)

Dragon Boat Paddle (Grades 4 and up)
Get into action and learn the techniques of dragon boat paddling! Perfect for all fitness levels, dragon boat paddling encourages teamwork skills. Program takes place rain or shine at Creekside Community Centre and all equipment is provided.
Offered in partnership with Dragon Boat BC.
